Shane Aiming For Caps

Ipswich Town goalkeeper Shane Supple is hoping to one day force his way into the Republic of Ireland squad.
Currently Town’s number one ahead of Welsh international goalkeeper Lewis Price, Shane is aiming to get established as the Republics number three before one day making it as number one.
Shane: “Sir Bobby had some nice things to say and said he will be keeping an eye on us and that was nice to hear, there are not that many young Irish goalkeepers around at the moment and I think if I can continue playing regular first-team football then maybe I can make strides at international level.
“I know Steve Staunton is looking at Alan Lee so if I can play at a consistent level then I might have a chance to impress him and perhaps get a call for the U21s.
“Shay Given and Paddy Kenny are first and second choice for the senior side but no one is established behind them so playing regular football here might give me a chance to stake my claim eventually. That's my dream, to play for my country.”
