Proudlock Paid Off

Adam Proudlock has had his contract with Town terminated and paid off after being told he won’t be offered a new deal by Town.

The 24-year-old striker would not be able to play for Town again this season after suffering a knee injury that required surgery. Proudlock was released by Sheffield Wednesday after several breaches of club discipline but Town manager Joe Royle insists that is not the case here.

Royle:  “We have told Adam that he won't be offered a new contract in the summer and we have agreed to pay him up now. It has not worked out the way he would have hoped, but there have been no problems with Adam, certainly no repetition of any of the breaches of discipline that precipitated his move here.”

Adam’s five month stay at Town did not yield a single goal.
