Nothing To Spend, Yet

Town manager Joe Royle says he has got nothing to spend until the total number of season ticket holders for next season is known.

Joe: “We should be able to compete for the better frees and Bosmans, this will put us in a similar bargaining position to most of our Championship rivals.

 

“I have yet to pin down chairman David Sheepshanks and chief executive Derek Bowden and the actual financial position will not be known until season ticket sales have been finalised.

 

“But we will be better off than last summer when I had my hands tied until we sold Darren Bent and Kelvin Davis.

 

“I am not having a moan about the money available to me, and I plan to have new players in the building by the time we report back for pre-season training on June 26.

 

“But even if we fail to bring in any newcomers we will go into next season stronger than we did this one.”
