We don't really know a huge amount about Ralph Firman.  We do know his pedigree however.  Ralph is actually Ralph Firman Jnr.  His father, Ralph Snr is the founder of the Van Diemen Formula Ford racing team who can count the late great Ayrton Senna as one of their many driving talents.

Ralph's own driving pedigree began as Giancarlo's did (and most of the F1 drivers today) in Kart Racing.  By the time he was 15, he had been crowned British Junior Cart champion.  He progressed into Formula Vauxhall and in 1994 started his F3 career.

After winning the Mclaren Autosport Young Driver of the Year award , he progressed into Formula Nippon and won the championship last year whilst driving for the PIAA Nakajima team.

Now in 2003, Ralph has started a career in F1 with Jordan.  The team have high hopes for Ralph and so do the fans.
