Jordan Friday Qualify in 11th and 17th

Jordan drivers Giancarlo Fisichella and Ralph Firman have set the 11th and 17th fastest times respectively in today's pre-qualifying session for the San Marino Grand Prix.

According to Jordan, Ralph's car is still suffering from understeer problems.  Looking back over the previous friday times, Ralph is very much consistent and this is  quite probably down to his lack of experience at many of the F1 tracks. “It was going reasonably well but I made a mistake at the chicane, I just hit the kerb too hard and got the car a bit oversteery,  I had a productive morning though and I'm looking forward to tomorrow, I think it's going to be a good weekend.”

Giancarlo appeared not to have suffered any problems with the car to set the 11th fastest time, his performances have improved over the last three weekends but is still consistently midfield. “Unfortunately I made a couple of mistakes in the last sector, otherwise I think I had the possibility to be 10th.  The car is not too bad, we need to adjust the set-up bit and I'm confident for tomorrow.”

The team will be looking to make some adjustments overnight in time for tomorrows final qualifying session.

In a ceremony on the start / finish straight, just 15 minutes before the qualifying session took place, Giancarlo was handed the winners trophy from the Brazilian Grand Prix by the runner up Kimi Raikonnen.  Eddie Jordan was handed the winning constructors trophy by Ron Dennis.
