No improvements in Q2 for Jordan

Ralph Firman out qualified Giancarlo Fisichella, but the team failed to impress in the second qualifying session for the Spanish Grand Prix.

Ralph ended the session in 15th fastest, his best of the season so far.  His lap looked strong and steady and clearly the hope is for a good performance in the race tomorrow.  Giancarlo fared less well on a circuit he is clearly unhappy with.  Before the session started, the EJ13 suffered an engine failure.  The team did a cut 'n shunt to get Fisi out in effectively, the spare car however the best the Italian could get was 17th.

"Obviously I'm happy to be ahead of Giancarlo," Said Ralph.  "I feel my qualifying lap was pretty good, despite some understeer on the final section of the track. We've tested here before, so it helps that Barcelona is a track that I am familiar with, and I think that's helped me so far this weekend. I'm confident of getting a good result tomorrow."

With the cars now in Parc Ferme for the night, it's difficult to see how the team can improve for tomorrows race, however with the FIA allowing an hour's tinkering before the start of the race, this should be plenty of time to get a certain amount of reliability into the car.
