Giancarlo Fisichella has been able to improve on his practice times during a broken qualifying session for tomorrow's Austrian Grand Prix.

30 minutes into the session, Jarno Trulli's Renault engine let go and spread oil over the track causing Rubens Barrichello (the eventual pole sitter), Heinz Harald Frentzen and Michael Schumacher all to take to the green stuff.

The Jordan boys were only able to manage 15th and 18th places, again loosing out to BAR.  Giancarlo took to the grass for one of his runs and Takuma was for once, able to keep the car on the circuit.  Giancarlo felt that he had been blocked by other cars on the circuit and could have easily improved his place.

"We had a difficult session," admitted Giancarlo. "We found the best set-up compromise was to use scrubbed front and new rear tyres. At the very end of the session I was doing my quickest lap which I believe would have put me in the top 10 or 12 but I was held up by Frentzen moving quite slowly. I don't know why but he wouldn't move out of the way and that held me up."
