The long awaited EJ15B will make it's debut at this weeks Barcelona test session. The team are at the Circuit de Catalunya with Ferrari until Friday when they will move on to Magny Cours for the French Grand Prix.
The "B" spec car is not as some had hoped a brand new vehicle but is yet another update of the EJ15/14/13. The car is as yet untested on the track and the team are hopeful that it will push them further up the grid to challenge the likes of Red Bull and Sauber.
The team have worked hard trying to find out why the current car isn't performing well and as a result have put together a new package based on their findings.
"Until we conduct our initial track test at Barcelona on Thursday and Friday,
it is hard to say exactly how much of an improvement the new EJ15B will be."
said Adrian Burgess.
"The results are a long study of the problems we have with the current car. We
have addressed as many points and issues as we could without designing a
completely new car. This is an updated version. We think we have made
substantial gains in terms of downforce and drag reduction."
"The car should be far more efficient than the previous model and it certainly
looks a step closer to the opposition. If it performs as well as it looks,
hopefully we will be looking forward to challenging the Red Bull and Sauber cars
and being further ahead of Minardi."
No pics yet but we've asked the team for any sneaky pics they may have available.
