NEW HOME FOR YORK

York City Football Club expect to have a new stadium by 2005 - but the ground will cost around £17.5million.

Chairman John Batchelor said "The council has been very supportive and understanding about what we are trying to do.

He added "The stadium represents an investment of £17.5million to bring to fruition It will involve an awful lot of additional backers."

A location for the new ground has not been revealed.
