Mark is a tough-tackling midfielder who joined the Club from Southend United in the summer of 2000.

He's comfortable when in possession, his passing range is exceptional and he has a calming influence in the middle of the park. His height is a big advantage at set pieces and he can chip in with his fair share in goals.

He has been utilised in the centre of defence on occasions and many have tipped him to become a regular at the back later in his career, though for now he is happy in midfield. The former Leeds United man missed out on a large chunk of last season with an Achilles injury but he is looking to stamp his authority back on the midfield this term.
