Wilsons wants to change the rules

In a game dominated by money the FA have introduced a new rule to prevent the transfer of players to poorer clubs. Basically if your wage bill is 60% of your turnover you cant buy anyone and you have to make do with what you have.

So far since joining Pools Danny Wilson has had his hands well tied in the transfer market. He has been unable to bring players to the club and has lost 2 key players from last season.

The reason for this is the FA have introduced a new rule so League 2 sides cannot spend more than 60% of the clubs annual turnover on players wages. This has posed quite a problem for Pools who currently exceed that figure. This means that if Danny Wilson intends on adding any players before the transfer deadline of August 31st he first has to trim the squad.

This could mean that some of the least used players will be sent out on loan or even sold. Wilson has stated that he wants to add to the squad and the only way to do this at present is if the FA move the goalposts and change the rules.

Many people believe this new rule was one of the main causes for the sale of Adam Boyd and Tommy Butler who were believed to be two of the top wage earners at the club.

Some people though may be wondering how other clubs are managing to sign players. Darlington get lower crowds than Pools and are thought to be making losses but they still managed to bring in 5 players. Swindon another side who are getting similar crowds to Pools and they managed to sign 9 new players. So how come Pools can't afford to do the same thing?
