Both sides will be going into the game full of confidece after both sides picked up great wins against Championship opposition.

The last time these 2 teams met was in 1999 when they faced head-to-head in the FA Cup live on Skysports. On that day Hereford won 1-0. In total Hartlepool have beat Hereford 10 times and Hereford have beaten Hartlepool 18 times.

Hereford have had a promising start to the season after promotion from the Nationwide Conference last season. After 4 games, Hereford have managed to pick up 6 points which puts them 14th in the League. 

Both sides were on the right end of Carling Cup upsets. Hereford beat a full strength Coventry City side 3-1 and Hartlepool got their first win of the campaign with a 1-0 victory away to Burnley.

Danny Wilson is expected to name a similar side to that which played against Burnley meaning Humphreys run of over 200 league starts. Willie Boland is expected to be in the Pools squad for the first time.
