New Kit and a new team by the looks of things. Pools seemed to have finally clicked and are scoring for fun. Hartlepool completely dominated and could have had 8

Another happy evening against Grimsby Town was completed after 4 goald from Daly, Liddle and Porter. Pools made the brighter start and controlled the early stages of the first half and created plenty of early efforts including a shot from Porter and a close range header from Micky Nelson.

Despite Pools controlling the game on 15 minutes the hosts took the lead after Fenton was left unmarked at a corner he got up and headed into the top corner. The goal gave Grimsby real belief and the started to attack the game and came very close with one effort and hit the post with another.

However the rest of the first half was Hartlepool but they had to wait til the 46th minute for their reward. Matty Robson pinchd the ball of Beagrie in the penalty box and Beagrie pulled Robsons shirt giving Hartlepool a clear penalty and Jon Daly made no mistake making it 2 scored penalties in 2 games.

After the break it was Hartlepool and it could easily of finished at 8-1. Liddle put Pools infront with a fantastic free kick that Beckham would have been proud of. Not only were Hartlepool outplaying Grimsby the fans were outsinging them. Pools took great support who never stopped singing throuhout the second half.

Pools kept creating the chances and Micky Nelson had a perfectly good goal dissalowed after the referee accused Nelson of climbing on the defender to reach the ball. Jon Daly also had a header well saved by the Grimsby keeper.

The Pools fans had to wait til the 85th minute for the 3rd when Jon Daly (who was excellent all game) chased down the keeper and made a slide tackle winning the ball and placing it in the open goal.

The 4th goal was just pure class from Joel Porter who battled for the ball, beat 3 defenders and then curled his effort into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

All in all it was a great night for Pools who have scored 9 in 2 games. With Wrexham (and Chril Llewelyn) coming to the Vic on saturday on equal points but with 2 games in hand. A victory for Pools could see them climb into the playoff places
