Rotherham was the club that technically relegated Pools and Pools tonight should be out for revenge. The Johnstons Paint Trophy has never been the most serious of tournaments but with the extra bit of spice added to the game it could be one of the more interesting games

Pools will either go into tonights gamr with revenge in mind after the controversial circumstances in which Rotherham had Pools relegated. Or Pools will go into the game treating it like the worthless trophy that it is and Wilson will field a reserve team. However the rules of the tournament state that 6 of the 11 players must have appeared at first team level.

Pools last only managed 2 goaless draws with Rotherham and on the last day of the season Rotherhams drew with MK Dons and Pools drew with Port Vale so Pools went down and Rotherham stayed up. But that wasnt half of the relegation story. Rotherham delayed administration twice so they wouldnt recieve the 10 point penalty until this season. however it is thought that on the last day if results went against Rotherham they would send the paperwork off then and not get the 10 point penalty at all

Pools are not expected to play Porter or Gibb who both went off injured on Saturday. This could see E Williams return to the first team.

Last season Pools went out in the first round to Scunthorpe whilst Rotherham went out in the secondround
