Forget Newcastle-Sunderland, forget the Merseyside and Manchester derby the countries top derby match takes place at Victoria Park today when Hartlepool take on Darlington. And the fans have got right behind the teams and the game is almost sold out

Anybody who wants a ticket to the hottest game of the season will need to get their skates on as they are almost sold out. Only 500 tickets remain in the Camerons Brewery Stand with the Town End, The Cyril Knowles Stand and the Rink End all selling out.

It promises to be a historic match with both sides after promotion this season and the bumper crowd is expected to be bigger than in any other Darlo game. Last seasons league cup encounter (which we WON 3-1) was watched by 6 100.

The biggest crowd at the Vic was in the Division 3 playoff game when over 6 900 watched the game. Todays crowd is expected to be well over the 7 000 mark and Danny Wilson will be hoping for the crowd to make some great noise as we take on the old enemy
