A 1-1 draw means both sides will be in Sundays draw but the game was controlled by severe weathr conditions that made it impossible for either side to play football.

What a horrible afternoon. Wet, windy and freezing cold was a clear sign that winter is now upon us.

The game had very few real chances. Chris Dagnell was the main threat for Rochdalre and created several half chances but he came close to opening the scoring when his shot from just inside the area was well saved by Dimi.

In the first half though it was Pools who created the more chances. Daly headed over from a corner and a distance effort from Matty Robson went wide.

The rest of the first half was played at a fast pace but with no real chances being created until a bizzare goal by James Brown. Humphreys played a ball into the area and as Stanton tried to clear the ball for Dale the ball ht him in the face and bounced to James Brown showed us why he feels good by putting his shot in the top corner.

Pools went in 1-0 up at half time but the weather was getting worse making the second half into a lottery. And after 60 minutes Rochdale won that lottery.

They won a free kick which was delivered into the area. The initial threat was cleared but Doolan smashed the ball into the bottom corner from 25 yards.

The weather just kept getting worse thoughout the second half. Neither goalkeeper was really tested. Rochdale had the majority of possesion but it was Pools who nearly took the lead. Eifion Williams came on for James Brown and had the perfect chance to score but just dragged his effort wide of the target.

Late on it was almost more cup upset for Pools when Barker lached on to a long free kick but with only the keeper to beat he hit is shot wide of the target.

Neither side could find the breakthrough so both teams are in Sundays draw. Look out for ball number 30
