Wycombe Preview

Results are good but performances aint is the opinion of most at the Vic. This afternoon Pools will need both if we are to start getting back on the track of promotion

Hartlepool have technically been in good form recently with 2 wins in 2 games but looking at the performances people will be less than confident going into the game.

This could be Pools' toughest test of the season so far as Wycombe are flying high and are currently in 4th place. The Vic faithful will also have the 'pleasure' of watching former Poolies Jermain Easter and Kevin Betsy. Easter had an unsuccessful 3 year stint at Pools probably remembered most of his red card against Blackpool in the playoffs. Whilst Betsy was with the club for 2 months and had developed into a fan favourite but when Pools tried to make the deal permanent he ran to Oldham because they could offer more money. And he instantly became hated by the Pools fans

Hartlepool have only ever played Wycombe twice in their history. The first tie was at the Vic and a Micky Barron strike was enough to get a draw against a Wycombe side which was bottom of the league at the time. The second encounter at Adams Park was slightly more entertaining and Pools won the game 4-3 in a game best remembered for a Hugh Robertson free kick which went in from almost the half way line

Wilson is expected to add new signing Andy Monkhouse into the starting line up and Darryl Duffy will also return to the team after Hull wouldnt allow to play on Tuesday night. Porter and Proctor are still out and Sweeney is still working on match fitness. Darren Williams is in a race to prove his fitness after he hobbles off in Tuesday nights game against Rochdale
