Strachan to Posh

Hartlepool midfielder Gavin Strachan has joined Peterbrough United in a hope to get more first team football after being pushed out of the Hartlepool first team

Gavin Strachan has parted company with Hartlepool United to join Peterbrough. He has signed a contract with The Posh until the end of the season. Strachan was orginally on loan with the London Club but new manager Darren Ferguson has decided to make the move permanent.

Strachan signed for Pools on the eve of the 2003-2004 season and scored on his debut, ironically against Peterbrough.

"Gavin's a great lad and been a superb servant to Hartlepool United," boss Danny Wilson told the Official Website.

"Of course, everyone at the Club would like to wish him every success in his future career."

Strachan, son of Celtic manager Gordon Strachan, made 95 appearances for Pools and scored 9 goal.
