Hartlepool take on Swindon this weekend in what is a promotion 6-pointer. A win could take Pools into the top 3 if Lincoln drop points

Hartlepool are to take on Swindon this weekend in what will be a promotion 6 pointer. A win could move Hartlepool into third place in the league and within 2 points of Swindon.

Hartlepool will be chomping at the bit to stick one over on Swindon after their smash and grab victory at The Vic on the opening day and also Pools will be looking to get one over on Paul Sturrock who was the manager of Sheff Wed when they cheated their way through the play-offs.

The County Ground holds some happy memories for Pools fans as it was at the County Ground were Pools secured a place in the Division 2 playoffs when Adam Boyd goal gained Pools the point needed for a playoff spot.

Hartlepool have been dealt a blow with injuries and suspensions. Richie Barker will miss the game through suspension after picking up his 5th yellow of the season against Bury. Also Pools may miss E Williams, James Brown and Ben Clarke who all picked up injuries during training. This may see a return of Micky Proctor after he scored twice for the reserves during the week

It will also be a big game for Andy Monkhouse who will return to the County Ground for the first time since making his move to Pools permanent.
