Pools sign Mackay

He has made a name for himself in the non-league now Pools have given him a chance to do it in the football league. Michael Mackay has signed for Pools from Consett

Hartlepool United have made the signing of Michael Mackay. Now many of you may be like me and never heard of him before - well here are some facts. He has been signed from Consett (if any one reading this doesnt know the area Consett is in County Durham) and they play in the Arngrove Northern league. Mackay has spent his career in the non league playing for Consett, Durham City and Birtley Town. Last season he scored 41 goals for Consett and that will be why he has been watched by many league clubs.

Hartlepool have now added more firepower to the squad. With the addition of Mackay and Barker, Pools now have a total of 8 professional strikers on the books and competition for places will be hot with Joel Porter on his way back from injury and E Williams and Barker on superb form recentlyH
