Pools looking for third victory in a row

Hartlepool play Brighton at the Vic this weekend looking to chalk up a third victory on the trot to help them move further up the League One table after the amazing midweek win over Huddersfield. But after impresdsing everybody with their clinical finishing this season, it would be good if they could put a halt to their comical defending.

A win would be great, an easy win would be even better, but what Danny Wilson, his players and the fans all want is simple:

We haven't seen one, home or away, all season and Sam Collins and his fellow defenders really need to put an end to their generosity, and there's no place better to start than at home.
Antony Sweeney and Richie Jones both picked up injuries against Huddersfield and have been rated doubtful this week, but they will have pre-match fitness tests.
But no matter who plays where, it really is time the daft defending was killed off. Pools canly rely on Joel Porter to lead a fightback like he did on tuesday in every game, and no matter how well he, James Brown and Kevin Kyle might play as attackers, there comes a time when the defenders have got to do their jobs.
Not long ago they weren't being helped by the way opposition midfield players were allowed to run at them from deep, but Ben Clrk's return has helped ease that problem and against Huddersfield it was more a case of giving away free-kicks in dangerous positions and also not defending well against a long clearance.
Results like 3-3, 3-3 and 5-3 (20 goals) in the last three home games might be entertaining, but they are often not as satisfying as a 1-0 win in a tight game.
Danny Wilson says his nerves can't take it for much longer - and neither can ours.
To make matters more complicated, the bookies have made Pools favourites to win against Brighton, and that's always a worrying situation for Pools.
