Feel free to panic ... this really is a crisis

Up and down results for Hartlepool in the last season and a half have often put the temptation to panic in front of supporters, but so far there has been no need. Now there is. Losing at home to any team is bad, losing 4-1 at home is even worse, but losing to League One's bottom team as they chalk up their firstr away win of the season is a crsis result if ever we saw one.

Crewe might not have been bad, but they were by no means brilliant, but Pools were ... well, let's be brutal, they were crap.
It wasn't too bad in the first half when they were a bit unlucky to be a goal down at half-time, but after they equalized early in the second half, it just fell apart.
So what is Ken Hodcroft going to do now? He parted company with Danny Wilson a fortnight ago when results and performances were nowhere near as bad as this.
He can't sack the manager now, because there isn't one, and he's too pally with caretaker boss Chris Turner to sack him just yet.
So will he tell Turner that the Crewe performance was not good enough? Will he tell him to get it sorted quick?
Will he ask Turner why he brought back Arran Lee-Barrett after his suspension when Jan Budtz (right)had not done a bad job in his three games in goal? Budtz conceded one goal in three games, ALB has conceded seven in two games since he came back.
Turner clearly thinks that ALB is better than Budtz, but what message does it send to the squad when Budtz is dropped after playing well? He did NOT deserve to lose his place.
Tuner was embarrassed by the performance, and hopefully the players were, too. Apart from Joel Porter and, to a lesser degree Antony Sweeney, nobody did well.
Several were bloody awful.
The defence panicked when Crewe ran at them on the break, the midfield just didnlt operate anup front alongside Porter, Kevin Kyle was ... well, he was Kevin Kyle.
Here's a question for some of the fans - when Kyle was replaced by David Foley near the end, were you booing Kyle as he went off, Foley as he came on, or Turner for making the substitution?
This was a performance that had one word written all over it ... RELEGATION.
Pools are in mid-tablke now, but when you lose badly at home to a team already booked for the drop, then you can expect to join them.
It is time to panic - only a miracle can save Pools on this form.
