Coach Colin West shown the door at Pools

Hartlepool United coach Colin West has been rejected by the club, his contract running out and the club failing to offer him a new deal. Not too long ago many fans were calling for West to be installed as boss and Chris Turner to return to his Director of Sport role, but now it appears Turner is staying in charge and is looking for a new right-hand man.

It's not clear whether this is a cost-saving move or whether Pools feel they can do better, though while quoting Turner saying he wanted to thank West for his work over two spells with the club, the official website says that Turner felt changes were needed within the coaching staff to bring in fresh ideas.
Hopefully, the new ideas will include not throwing away matches they should win, and not being a soft touch away from home.
West hadn't done a bad job with the reserves in the last 18 months, returning to take over from Ian Butterworth, who had moved on to Norwich.
But it appears he and Turner are no longer able to work together as they ocne could.
Whether Turner has somebody in mind to take over the job remains to be seen, but youth coach Mickey Barron will possibly fancy his chances of promotion.
