Fixtures pile up for Pools as Cup-tie is called off again

Hartlepool United are probably more fed-up with the weather than everybody else in the town at the moment after yet another postponement at Victoria Park. Tuesday night’s rearranged FA Cup second round tie at home to Yeovil has been called off for the second time and will now hopefully go ahead a week later, Tuesday December 14.

It appears the days when the Vic used to benefit from being close to the sea are over as the ice age has done more harm in Hartlepool than in many other places after many years of it being the other way round.
Good old global warming.
There is still a covering of snow on the pitch and the forecast suggested there was not going to be a let-up in the icy temperatures before Tuesday night, so the match ref called it off to save Yeovil making a second wasted journey.
Pools’ next game is now scheduled to be a League One visit to Bournemouth on Saturday, and the prospects on the south coast are said to be a lot brighter.
With two home League One games as well as the Cup-tie to play, Pools are in danger of falling a long way behind with their fixtures.
But looking on the bright side, at least they haven’t played them and lost.
