Little Room to Manoeuvre?
Horwood

Anybody else feel sorry for Evan Horwood? His exit must be all the worse to take because he is the only regular first teamer to be given the boot and he most certainly has not lacked effort, commitment or footballing ability during the last season ...
It also comes when John Hughes says he want to play attacking football using local talent. Horwood is an attacking local left back aged just 27.
The bigger question is the wage bill. No doubt the club wants to know the future of Steve Howard, reputedly the club's highest paid player and who may come back from Sheff Wed to honour the rest of his contract with Pools. That would be fun.
If the club had wanted to release funds to employ some new players then they would surely have released the likes of James Poole, Andy Monkhouse and booted Sir Ritchie upstairs into a full time coaching role.
Instead, Hughes has very little room for manoeuvre.

I think this lot are lucky regardless of whether their contracts have run out or not:
Collins
Sweeney
Walton
Franks
Poole
Monkhouse
Howard
Horwood is not on that list.
OK im trying to look on the bright side
