Farewell Sir Ritchie

Ritchie Humphreys is leaving Pools. His contract has not been renewed and one of the most professional, dedicated, and wholehearted players the club has ever seen is off to pastures new ..

Therre are mindless idiots who have blamed relegation on Sir Ritchie and Micky Barron. They are the ones who forget that their presence and the tenure of IOR has seen the club have its best ever run of success.

Pools is a small town club with low attendances. It has overachieved while the likes of Sir Ritchie have been around.

But everything comes to an end. Somebody - be it Ken Hodcroft or the incoming Colin Cooper - has decided that the club needs an overhaul. This tyikme next year we will now if they were right.

In the meantime farewell to Ritchie and a heartfelt thanks for your wonderful contribution.

In my lifetime watching Pools there have been two standout players - Brian Honour and Ritchie Humphreys. Both had lots of skill, lots of heart, and were professional in everything they did.
I have had the pleasure of meeting Ritchie a few times and he is also a highly intelligent man who I am sure will continue to have a career in the game.
