If our luck was due to turn the Johnstone's Paint Trophy was probably the best place for it to happen ..
Despite dominating the game we went down 2-1 amid a flurry of yellow cards [for Rotherham] and a number of penalty claims rejected [for us].
Monkhouse got our goal - after dribbling his way into the box - after they had gone ahead with a header and he could have had a hat trick - with a little more luck.
Against the run of play Rotherham went ahead just before half time when a Lee Frecklington shot hit Kieran Agard and the deflection gave Flinders no chance.
The Pools fans booed Referee Darren Drysdale off at half time and he didn't give them any more pleasure in the second half.
The penalty appeals for fouls on Monky and Luke James were rejected including one deep into injury time. However, Rotherham managed to close the game out in uncompromising style.
