Hard Won Point

A superb volley from 17 year old Brad Walker earned a vital point in the mud at Southend. The equaliser came after Pools had defendeded superbly - sometimes back to the wall.

But we al.so had a couple of decent shouts for penalties turned down - most  notably when Luke James was brought down.

Barry Corr put the home side ahead just before the interval  with Walker's equaliser coming on the hour mark. He chested the ball down and smashed a volley into the top corner.
