Tommy Miller's first half performance was one of the highlights of the 2-1 defeat at Whitby - and it's to be hoped he signs on this week.

A youthful Pools side went down to two second half goals against a hard working home side. Colin Cooper wasn't happy but the defeat is hardly the end of the world - specially if Miller accepts the offer to rejoin the club.

Sevnteen year old Connor Smioth got Pools goal. It was his fourth in pre-season and inevitably people are asking if this is the next Luke James.

Pools: Rafferty (Flinders, 45), Richards (C), Collins, Nearney, Jones, Rowbotham, Hawkins, Miller (Green, 45), Smith, James (Compton, 80), Franks (Harewood, 80).

Subs: Bates, Austin, Duckworth, Parnaby, Holden, Walker.
