Two Away Goals!

Last season it took us five games before we scored a goal. Now at least we have two to our name but sadly that's the only good thing we can say about the season so far ..

Port Vale had no problem in scoring six and could have had more as the defence which did OK at Stevenage collapsed.

New skipper Michael Bates says the first home game against Bury tyhis Saturday will be massive - and he certainly isn't wrong. You can try as hard as you want but you won't find a single Hartlepool supporter who wen into ntghis season with any confidence -and they have seen all the ups and downs and aren't daft.

Seventy nine of them went to Port Vale last night and if you weren't one of them you can be eternally grateful.
