Rollercoaster

Sam Collins will  be relieved that his young side has a game at Accrington Stanley this Tuesday. It's a chance to put things right after a shot-shy 2-1 defeat by Luton and another opportunity for Big Sam to promote his claims for the full time manager's job ..

His side put lots of energy into the first half without seriously bothering Luton's goalie.

He should have been made to work on the half hour when a blatant penalty was missed by the officials - Charlie Wyke being scythed down in the box by Luke Wilkinson.

It wasn't to be, and ten minutes later Town got a sucker goal with a rare attack. Our defending at a throw-in was poor with Mart Cullen's low shot going under the diving Flinders.

Heads went down and the visitors had the better of the second half -  missing a couple of sitters before sub Jim Stevenson stroked the ball home after Flinders had parried a shot.

The consolation came in injury tyime after  Brad Walker was fouled,and Neil Austin hammered home the penalty. If he'd been given the same chance in the first half hour how much different might this game have been?
