Two goals from Jonathan Franks ensures that once again the Beeb will rub salt in our wounds when the draw for the second round of the FA Cup is made ..

It doesn't really matter (but it will probably be either Gateshead orf Blyth Spartans away) the important thing is that we avoided a banana skin by overcoming a game East Thurrock with two goals from Jonathan Franks - the first a beauty.

The visiting goalie deserved his Man of the Match award, and the lads from Essex deserved their round of applause from the assembled Poolies at the end.

Apart from Franks coming good - he actually sholuld have had half a dozen -  we had Sam Collins with the much venerated visiting top goalascorer in his back pcoket, Featherstone looking sold in the holding mdifield role and Sidney Schmeltz guildty of trying too hard to impress and eventually being taken off.

Murray will have been relieved with the result. Now he says he's looking to bring in three more players this week.
