Marlon Magic

Marlon Harewood has given us hope. His equaliser was no more than Pools deserved against a cynical Accringtion Stanley side who failed to perform like a side with nothing to play for ...

Their ability to con the Ref was reminiscent of the antics which are putting so many people off the premiership. 

Sadly a couple of Pools players were little better with their ability to roll around holding their heads when they'd been kicked on their ankle. Lower tier football didn't used to be like this and there's no place for it.

Quite which lower tier we will be in next year remains to be seen. Cheltenham won but Marlon's header from Jones's pinpoint cross  still keeps our head just above water.

It could have been three points with supersub Scott Fenwick very unlucky not to score in injury time

As the ball flashed across the goal he must have seen it very late through the crowd. He got a touch but the ball went over the bar instead of bulging the net. Tough luck indeed.

There was plenty of huff and puff in the game but little quality. Another defensive mix-up gave Josh Windass a first half chance and he certainly took it in some style.

We were poor in the first half but had lots more fight in the second with Hugill trying his socks off up front and Fenwick and Hareood making an impact when they came on.

This is going to be one big fight until the end and we must put in a full 90 minutes in all of the remaining games.
