Luke James is back in a Pools shirt until the end of the season and let's hope he remembers he owes us one for the manner in which he left us to join Peterborough ..

We certainly need someone to glue things together.

The 2-0 defeat at the hands of Exeter was another example of why we need a settled side and why we need to build confidence. At times we played some good stuff against a side who closed down well and were patient in possession.

If we'd scored early on when we had their defence panicking it may have been a different matter, but we had to wait until the second half to seriously threaten the visting goal and that was largely due to the speed and directness of sub Nathan Thomas.

It was a more energetic performance and there was no need for sections of the crowd to boo at the end of each half.
