Pools chasing Dadi - or just more speculation?

Tranmere Rovers fans may be about to get a nasty shock if the Hartlepool Mail is correct: it claimed earlier today that Hartlepool United were after their leading scorer Eugene Dadi. Is there any more to it than wishful thinking from the people that write the headlines?

To say that a move for Dadi is unlikely looks to be something of an understatement. While it's true that he's a big striker, and scored a fair few last season - 19 in fact - the chances of him leaving Tranmere currently look remote. The former Aberdeen and Livingstone player, who will be 31 in August, signed a new two year deal with the team from the Wirral less than three weeks ago and even if he is available Rovers would want a decent fee for him. There's also a distinct absence of rumours from the Prenton Park end.

Have Little and Dadi had a major falling out? Given that Dadi flew back from France in order to sign the deal, interrupting a holiday, it would have been a neat trick. It's not impossible of course, but the news from Merseyside says nothing more about Dadi whatsoever.

The other rumour circulating is that Paul Robinson may be about to join Yeovil. While Clarke, Sweeney and Craddock are all set to sign their new deals, Robinson was less than happy to be only offered six months - and Yeovil boss Gary Johnson has indicated that he's been talking to strikers from other League clubs. Robbo however is believed to want to stay fairly close to home in the North-East. It's not impossible that a good offer could persuade him to move though, so watch this space!
