Q 2: 8th - 1'18.153

Michael Schumacher continued to suffer in single lap qualifying this season, as he could only manage the 8th fastest time during qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix. While not making any major mistakes in the session, it was obvious that his time would not be extremely fast as the car was quite twitchy. Here is what the 7-Time World Champion had to say about his run:

Rubens Barrichello
Q 2: No Time

Rubens Barrichello also continued his poor showing so far this year as the team was force to change his engine and he did not even go out during the second qualifying session. Rubens would be starting from the back of the grid, regardless of how well he did so there was no point in risking any damage to the car. Here is what the Brazilian had to say after his disappointing session:

“Having had to change the engine, we could go for the option of not taking part in the second qualifying session and thus save laps for the race. I’m starting from the back, but I have not given up hope of getting a good result. Our car is very strong in race trim and with a good choice of strategy, we can aim for a points finish.”
