Mark Webber has blamed Michael Schumacher for causing the incident between the two drivers at the Turkish Grand Prix. The accident resulted in both drivers having to pit and eventually both drivers retired Here is what Mark Webber had to say:

"I think he was out of order because in the braking area it doesn't matter if you are a lap down or whatever, and I was catching him. I was a lot quicker and I wanted to get through and get on with my race. The Ferraris were very, very slow and Michael was incredibly slow and I pulled out of his slipstream side-by-side. He started moving across in the braking area, which all the drivers have agreed not to do that because it is not sporting-like and we have agreed not to do that. When he started to do that I wasn't that worried about making contact at the end, I didn't show him much respect in the end when we went around the corner and then we collided."

Webber seems to think that being a lap down doesn't matter. One would argue that he had no business attempting to pass Schumacher. This is what Michael had to say about the incident:

"As regards to the incident with Webber, I saw him closing on me and he moved to the right. As I began to brake, I could no longer see him and, when I was in mid-corner, I felt a bang at the back as he hit me with his nose. He was one lap down, so I don’t understand why he tried this move."

This accident was caused by Michale Schumacher, but the entire incident was started by Mark Webber. In light of this, the shunt is best summed up as a racing incident.
