Red Bull Racing has stated that they will not switch to Bridgestone tyres for 2006 but Toyota and Williams revealed they will. Red Bull's engine deal with Ferrari was believed to ensure they would switch to Bridgsetone, but that does not seem to be the case. Red Bull's Christian Horner had this to say:

"We are delighted to have extended our agreement with Michelin for the 2006 season, which forms another significant part of our overall package for next year.

Michelin's continuing development has been very impressive and its professionalism in dealing with the new single tyre regulations was a key factor in our decision."

Toyota revealed that they are in talks with Bridgestone for a switch to the Japanese tyre manufacturer in 2006:

"Toyota can confirm that it is in advanced negotiations with Bridgestone over tyre supply for its Formula One team in 2006 but no agreement has been signed. The decision to consider a switch of tyre supplier has been made by Toyota."

Williams has taken a step further by stating that they have signed a new contract with Bridgestone. Hiroshi Yasukawa, Director of Bridgestone Motorsport had this to say:

"It is with great pleasure that I can now confirm that Bridgestone Motorsport and the WilliamsF1 Team have entered into a tyre supply partnership, to commence after the end of the current season."

Hopefully with both Toyota and Williams joining with Bridgestone, the field should be evened out. This means that Ferrari, Williams and Toyota can work together to battle against Michelin.
