2005 World Champion Fernando Alonso, believes that Ferrari testing Valentino Rossi was a waste of time for the Italian team. Alonso points out that testing with their real drivers would be far more productive for Ferrari rather than with a man who may or may not race in Formula 1 at all. Here is what the Spaniard had to say about Valentino Rossi and Ferrari:

"I don't mind at all seeing Rossi in a Ferrari, It only means the team is losing time in preparing their cars for the new season.

Since we haven't seen him competing in a race we don't know his true potential. I do think though he could become fifth in a race of score a podium position now and then. But then again, I would also do well in MotoGP if I would take time to practice."
