Felipe Is The Real Deal

Felipe Is The Real Deal

Felipe Massa took a very impressive second grid position today during qualifying for the Grand Prix of Bahrain. Schumacher, Brawn and the Tifosi have now come to realise that he was indeed a good signing for Ferrari. First here is what Michael Schumacher had to say about the young teammate who almost beat him during qualifying today.

"We knew Felipe was going to be quick - it is why we signed him, so it is nice to see him up there. He is very quick."

Ross Brawn is also very pleased that Felipe Massa has put in a strong performance already and had this to say after qualifying:

"We saw today that Felipe is going to be capable of pushing Michael and I think that Michael welcomes that. It is always a challenge because fundamentally they want to beat each other but you have to make them work together. And that is the secret; to get them to work together and give them the opportunity to beat each other. We will not have an easy race so both drivers will have to push hard from beginning to the last lap."

Finally, it is the Tifosi who have been pleasantly surprised by the young Brazilian's excellent result during qualifying for his first race with Ferrari. Even this reporter, who was not initially pleased with the signing of Felipe Massa, has come to realise that he may very well be a strong title contender this year if Ferrari continue to provide a dominant package.
