Michael Schumacher will be going for his 3rd straight victory at this weekend's Spanish Grand Prix and he thinks he can pull it off. Hoping to build off the momentum from the European Grand Prix, Schumacher looks poised to upset home crowd favorite Fernando Alonso. This is what the 7-Time World Champion had to say:

"Sometimes, these races back-to back are really good - they enable you to keep the good energy from the last race up and make use of it for the next one. That will be the case for us at Barcelona, although we are cautious and know that every new race is a whole different story. And we will, just as before at the Nürburgring and Imola, do everything within our power, to make sure the outcome is good.

The Circuit de Catalunya is all about finding the right mix in the set-up for the slow and fast turns driven there. That's not always easy, because the strong winds that come up sometimes are also an important factor to be considered. All teams test extensively here over the winter, so the track itself holds no big surprises. We have been here plenty of times over the last few months ourselves, so we know how to go about it. But still, it's a well-known fact that the conditions here tend to change constantly and the competition is tough, so we have to be highly alert.

After all, we want to carry on being as successful as in the last two races. I think we can manage to achieve that. I think our chances are good and we should be able to fight for the win at Barcelona."

Schumacher now only trails Alonso by 13 points, while still a large margin, if Fernando is to drop out of just one race and Schumacher were to win that race, the gap would be reduved by 10. Schumacher would then certainly be in striking distance of the lead.
