Valentino Rossi Slams Formula 1

Dale Calkins

After stating that he would not race in Formula 1, Valentino Rossi has slammed the sport and everything about it. After testing at Valencia with other drivers, Rossi fell out of love with how the sport operates, and will not be racing for Ferrari or any team for that matter. A source close to the MotoGP superstar had this to say about Rossi's falling out with the sport:

"It was at the Valencia test when Valentino realised that the driver is nothing in Formula 1. While he was driving the car the engineers were constantly on the radio telling him what he could and couldn’t do. Straight away he didn’t like this."

The source went on further to state that Rossi believes Formula 1 is an "engineer’s sport" and not a drivers' sport like MotoGP. Ferrari fans have in turn slammed Rossi for not being a team player and wasting Ferrari's time. They are quite likely correct and Rossi not racing for Ferrari should turn out to be a positive for the Italian squad as they can focus solely on their racing and not Rossi's pleasure drives.
