Michael Schumacher states that his and Ferrari's goal is still to win the Driver and Team World Championships this year. Schumacher certainly believes that the Scuderia can accomplish this and believes that the United States Grand Prix was an excellent indication of this. Michael had this to say:

"Our aim was to make up ground on the leader and this is what we have done. There was never any reason to give up. On the contrary, our display at Indianapolis was encouraging. We want to show what we are capable of. We should not forget that there are eight races left and there is still time to bridge the gap. We will try to do this and see how things turn out. Our aim, as ever, is to be world champions."

Schumacher's next opportunity to close in on Renault and Fernando Alonso will come at the French Grand Prix, a circuit which Bridgestone will not likely have as big of an advantage like they did at Indianapolis.
