Fractured 'army

Injuries to Mark Stoneman (broken arm) and Steve Harmison (fractured wrist) mean a couple of changes to the Durham squad for the match against Yorkshire at Headingly.

Former captain Will Smith returns to the side in place of Mark Stoneman and will open the batting with Michael Di Venuto while Steve Harmisons place in the squad taken by Graham Onions who returns from injury following a successful outing for the 2nd XI last week. It looks likely that Durham will stick with two spinners at Headingly meaning that Onions and Claydon will be competing for the final bowling spot.

Yorkshire will be playing their first home match of the season following their thrashing of Worcestershire last week. Adil Rashid was the star player for Yorkshire in that match and assuming both play it will be interesting to compare him with Durham's own young leg spinner Scott Borthwick.

I'm expecting Onions to play, seems unlikely he would have been named in the squad if he isn't going to be in the final X1. Let's hope everything goes well for him.
I still feel Will Smith was treated unfairly last season and hope his return to Championship cricket is a successful one.

Seems as if it's not a foregone conclusion that Bunny will be playing, an article in The Guardian suggests Cook is still wary of bringing Graham back too soon.

If they do play Graham I do hope he is truly ready.

Yes, I assumed if he was in the squad he'd definitely play but if they're only considering playing him because of the injury to Harmy it might be a risk not worth taking.
