Durham have signed Javagal Srinath as an additional overseas player for the coming season. Both their current overseas players have been selected for international duties.

Javagal Srinath will be playing cricket at the Riverside for Durham County Cricket Club this season.

The Indian bowling star has played 67 test matches for India as well as over 200 one day internationals and is part of the Indian world cup squad currently in South Africa. He was man of the match in India's crushing victory over Sri Lanka.

Srinath has had previous county experience with Gloucestershire in 1995 and more recently as cover for Michael Bevan at Leicestershire last season.

Srinath will provide experience to what is still a relatively young Durham squad. Hopefully he will able to pass on some of his expertise to the younger bowlers including Steve Harmison as he looks for a regular England place.
