Ashes 2009 - The Durham Vision

Durham County Cricket Club have launched a bid to bring the 2009 Ashes to the Riverside. The ECB will decide before easter which grounds in the country will be given the chance to be part of the most prestigious cricketing event in the world. Find out here how you can show your support.

 

The Durham County Cricket Club vision is set out on www.signthebat.co.uk. The site allows you to show your support for the bid by signing the virtual bat. Anyone giving their support will have a chance of winning a ball signed by Colly, Harmison and Gary Pratt. At the time of writing the bat had over 5000 signatures.

The vision is for far more than a single cricket match, it about showcasing sport in the region and giving opportunities to young people to become involved and excited about cricket.

Think back to the Ashes last year and the way that Cricket was top of everyone's sporting agenda and then bring that interest and excitement to Durham and who knows how many players we will have in the England squad in three years time!
