Midfielder Andy Kane speaks to us about his recent appearances for the Blues and also looks forward to the Scottish Cup-Tie against Motherwell.

Andy Kane's View

Brechin City 3-1 Stranraer

Last night i spoke to Andy Kane and this is what he had to say about Saturday's game;

" The team and myself were gutted with the result. Going to Brechin is a hard place to take anything from a game, but i felt after we got the equaliser we could take something from the game. The team is still confident that we can get promotion."

" Billy McLaren was saying that all games are vital now, but in general he was just disappointed. He was a bit annoyed that we conceded 3 goals today. We have to turn our attentions to Tuesday night against Hamilton."

This is Andy's second game on the bounce he said;" I'm happy to toget a couple of games in the starting line-up, but it has been really difficult to work my way and be where i am now. With not getting a run in the team, i'm not fully match practice and my sharpness might not what it be if i had played say 5 games on the bounce. Getting a game helps my confidence. I have played 4 or 5 reserve games this season against junior teams and one against Ayr Unted reserves. They just keep you match fit."

As far as the cup game Andy said;" The cup game is somthing to look forward to but at the moment the game on Tuesday against Hamilton is more important. Motherwell are a good side, and must be favourites. There a young side, so things like home advantage, narrow pitch and a heavy pitch might contribute to a very possible cup upset."

" James McFadden will most likely be the best player on the park. He has a great ability. I was speaking to a few of the players at my old club Clyde, who played Motherwell in the last round of the cup and they were saying he was by far the best player on the pitch. We are unlikely to win the Scottish Cup. It's nice to have got as far as we have but the league is more important. We cant use the cup as an excuse for our disappointing run in the league."
