The end of the season is here and Stranraer players are already thinking about next season. Fraser Wright seems to be close to signing for a SPL team, while captain Billy Macdonald might be heading to London. Read on for more details.

Out with the old...

Fraser Wright

Wright- Hearts bound

Rumours have been circulating through Glasgow drinking establishments that Stranraer defender/striker (!) Fraser Wright is set to join SPL Heart of Midlothian in the next few days.

Wright joined the Blues at the start of season 1998-99, and since then the 5'10" defender has played 93 league games with six goals to his credit. Billy elected to play him in more of an attacking role this season and it seemed to have pay off with Wright finishing the season with five goals, three of which were scored in the first three games of the season.

Billy Macdonald

Macdonald- QPR?

Stranraerfc.net's new contributor Ben Allen has also noted that Stranraer's captain Billy Macdonald spent part of last week in London trying out for English Third Division side Queen's Park Rangers. This information was reported in last week's Sun newspaper. The Sun also reported that Blues' defender Andy Paterson will also be leaving Stair Park at the end of the season.

If you have any news on the ins-and-outs at Stair Park, just send me an e-mail and I'll add it to the website.
