Strong rumours are circulating of Bolton Wanderers midfielder Nicky Southall possibly returning to former club Gillingham, having been an influential player during his spell at Priestfield.

The Gills want to sign Southall on a month’s loan as the thirty-year old has been starved of first team chances at the Reebok since signing in the summer of 2001 on a Bosman free transfer after he didn’t sign a new contract with Gillingham. He has scored one league goal for Bolton, a thirty yard strike away to Newcastle last season.
