Bolton Wanderers midfielder Nicky Southall today departed the Reebok and signed a three month loan deal with First Division promotion chasers Norwich City.
Speculation was rife earlier this week that Southall would return to former club Gillingham but Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce rejected their approach as he felt he needed Southall as cover for his injury depleted squad. However, Allardyce has had a change of heart after 30 year old Southall made it clear that he is desperate for first team football.
Southall is set to make his debut for the Canaries on Saturday at Deepdale when the Norfolk side travel north to face Preston North End in the First Division.
Southall is the second player this week to leave on loan following Alan O'Hare's move to Chesterfield.
